2023 Australian Security Industry Awards
Wilson Security is immensely proud to share the achievements of our dedicated team members, as announced at the 2023 Australian Security Industry Awards, which incorporate the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence, the Outstanding Security Performance Awards, and the Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF).
We continue to commend the commitment and unwavering dedication of our award winners and all our nominees who embody the values we uphold at Wilson Security.
Australian Security Industry Award
Wilson Security was also awarded the Australian Security Industry Award for Excellence in the ‘Electronic Security Installation Over $100,000’ category.
Project Manager Ben Scott accepted the award on behalf of Wilson Security and the dedicated members of our Electronic Security division. Ben was accompanied by our valued client, Trevor Cotsworth from Jemena and our National Manager of Technology, Michael Bagnall, who helped make this project successful with their collaborative support and guidance.

This project focused on upgrading 43 critical sites across eastern Australia, resulting in both increased efficiencies and enhanced security outcomes.
Guided by the jointly created motto "Invest in our Future," the project aimed to achieve three key objectives:
- Reduce the number of systems in use,
- Increase multi-department utilisation of technology,
- Identify opportunities to decrease reliance on in field physical security, by utilising technology capabilities for increase coverage and create consistency with responses.
The project involved integrating 497 doors, 300 cameras and 40 SIP-controlled devices, creating a comprehensive security solution.
Despite challenges, such as COVID-related delays, union consultations, compliance with the SOCI Act, and complex logistics across remote sites, the team successfully navigated these obstacles to deliver outstanding results.
Key outcomes for Jemena included:
- A system adaptable to future requirements over the next 10+ years, supported by fixed infrastructure.
- Enhanced security measures across all sites, improving perimeter detection capabilities and replacing outdated video and CCTV technology.
- Streamlined operations, offering a seamless facility-access user experience, higher levels of security, and improved compliance through enhanced visibility and reporting.
- Capability to implement new physical and virtual credential technologies.
- Development of a unified security control solution for centralised monitoring, streamlined management, and heightened safeguarding.
- Creation of a compliance document to provide governance and frameworks for future development, management, and implementation of security systems.
- More sustainable and effective security systems that provide multifunctional roles for operational management across warehouses and gas sites.
