Our approach to compliance and integrity is designed to reduce risk for our clients through strong governance, independent oversight and proactive engagement with regulators and industry stakeholders.

Wilson Security treats compliance as a strategic priority, not a box‑ticking exercise. We invest in robust governance frameworks, independent assurance, ethical leadership and continuous improvement to protect our clients’ reputations, support a stable and fairly employed workforce, and set higher standards across the security industry. This approach is underpinned by the following key commitments:

  • Significant investments in Wilson Security’s risk management and compliance capacity, including a large, dedicated team of leading industrial relations, risk management and compliance professionals, supported by independent governance and oversight structures reporting directly to senior leadership.
  • Working constructively with the United Workers Union to lift industry standards, including co‑creating, signing and implementing the United Workers Union Code of Practice: Preventing the exploitation of security industry workers (higher standards, better wages, more secure jobs and safer workplaces). Wilson Security is the only security company in Australia to have signed this Code of Practice.
  • Strong leadership in human rights, modern slavery and ESG compliance, including a publicly available Modern Slavery Statement, dedicated Modern Slavery Committee and Working Group, comprehensive employee training programs, and third‑party social and ESG audits.
  • Comprehensive competition and consumer law compliance framework, supported by formal policies, ongoing staff training, whistleblower protections, and regular independent reviews by external legal experts.
  • Proactive regulatory engagement and horizon scanning, including ongoing monitoring of legislative and regulatory change, active participation in regulator and industry forums, and regular reporting to senior leadership to anticipate and manage emerging compliance risks.
  • Engaging leading external legal, audit and governance experts to strengthen stakeholder confidence, independently validate compliance practices, and build trusted relationships across key areas of regulatory and reputational risk.
  • A regular program of proactive audits, including internal audits and independent external audits across payroll, licensing, industrial relations, health and safety, competition and consumer compliance.
  • Developing and operating an industry‑leading compliance management system for sub‑contractor management, including ASIAL endorsed contractor management frameworks, built‑in compliance controls across rostering, payroll and invoicing, automated licence verification, and independent contractor audits.

Together, these commitments demonstrate Wilson Security’s disciplined, transparent and proactive approach to managing risk and upholding the highest standards of integrity. By embedding strong governance, independent oversight and continuous improvement across every level of our operations, we help our clients mitigate regulatory, reputational and workforce risks while delivering reliable, ethical security services. This approach underpins long‑term partnerships built on trust, accountability and confidence in our ability to operate responsibly in complex and highly regulated environments.
