Thank You Security Officers' on International Security Officers' Day 2025

15th July 2025

On the 24th of July, we proudly recognise the contributions of the people who keep our people, places and communities safe every day.

Security officers are the quiet professionals we rely on to help create safe, secure environments. They’re often the first to arrive, the first to respond, and the first to help when it’s needed most.

That’s why, on International Security Officers’ Day (ISOD), Wilson Security wants to take a moment to express our gratitude and shine a light on our national workforce.

About International Security Officers’ Day (ISOD)

ISOD is a global security industry initiative that’s celebrated on the 24th of July each year – a nod to the 24/7 nature of security work.

An industry-driven and well-supported initiative, the long-term goal is to build global support to petition the United Nations to formally declare 24 July as International Security Officers' Day.

ISOD is a chance to recognise the sometimes-overlooked efforts of security professionals worldwide.

Security officers take on a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Greeting and farewelling people at entrances/exits.
• Responding to emergencies.
• Keeping sites safe overnight.

These duties and so much more help communities feel more at ease and businesses operate with confidence.

For Wilson Security, ISOD is a chance to express our appreciation for the security officers who represent our company with integrity, professionalism, and care.

The ISOD pin tradition

We are gifting the ASIAL 2025 ISOD pins to our employees, which they can wear proudly on their uniforms.

Our corporate team is also visiting the teams working on the day as a reminder of the importance of their role in protecting Australian businesses.

Spotlight on our people

Every day, our officers make a difference by not only doing their job but also going above and beyond what’s required. On ISOD, Wilson Security is proud to spotlight some of our exceptional people.

To our officers, we truly appreciate what you bring to work every day.

Suzanne works in the critical infrastructure industry in Western Australia, and shared her thoughts on the benefits of working in the industry.

“I've worked in the security industry for over 40 years, and what I love most is that while the duties of a security officer are often similar, every site and role is unique. So, there's always something new to learn.”

Ronnie | Site Security Manager, Western Australia

Ronnie works in the corporate real estate sector, where he has an unwavering commitment to safety and service excellence.

"I thrive on building strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering a culture of vigilance and ensuring smooth day-to-day protection to people and property."

John | Operations Manager, Victoria

We'd also like to recognise a very special member of the Wilson Security team. John is our longest-serving office employee, who has been with us for over twenty years.

Of his time at Wilson, John said:

"I have seen it grow from its early days at Mulgrave, where the security business was of a much smaller size."

"To see the Company it has become is quite outstanding, to have seen that growth has been a privilege and honour with many memorable moments from the early days to present."

Thank you, John, for your outstanding contribution.
