Project Overview

Wilson Security was awarded the contract for the operation of both the Australian National Maritime Museum’s security service and front of house operations.  The Museum is a prestigious and internationally recognised cultural complex located in the heart of Darling Harbour, Sydney.

The museum site is extensive and comprises an infrastructure housing a variety of exhibits and small fleets of naval and civilian vessels at different births around the venue.

These vessels ranging from an ex-Destroyer to a full replica of the sailing ship HM Bark Endeavour which is of immense historical interest and is irreplaceable.  Considered to be vulnerable and berthed adjacent to a 24/7 public thoroughfare, these national treasures require constant attention to ensure their ongoing preservation.

The front of house operation involves reception and ticketing services. Both functions requiring a high degree of customer focus.  Services are under the daily operational control of a dedicated Wilson Operations Manager.

Wilson is a recognised leader in maintaining highly secure and customer focused operations within arts and culture environments.

Wilson manages a portfolio of diverse services at the Museum:

  • A fully equipped 24/7 control room
  • Front of house customer service
  • Especially trained gallery security staff
  • Internal and external patrols
  • Client services
  • Visitor management
