Project Overview

Wilson Security was awarded the contract for the provision of security services to TransAdelaide in 2007, following a competitive tendering process. 

With over 13 million passengers each year, TransAdelaide is responsible for the management and operation of Adelaide’s urban train and tram networks and have an ongoing commitment to making travelling on trains and trams safer for both its staff and customers.  The security contract includes the requirement for a security officer to accompany each Passenger Service Assistant on all train services after 6.00pm, daily.

The security service comprises the provision of:

  • Grade 2 licensed security guards to work with and support TransAdelaide staff members on train and tram services
  • Random roving guards with TransAdelaide staff members at Adelaide and metropolitan stations
  • Additional guards for special events and other requirements.

Wilson Security has appointed a full time Contract Manager who is dedicated to managing the TransAdelaide security services contract.  The Contract Manager is based at the Adelaide Railway Station and is the first point of contact for TransAdelaide management on day to day operational matters.  The Contract Manager is further supported by two Security Supervisors.

Wilson Security provides a contract dedicated response vehicle for use by the Contract Manager and Supervisors, allowing them to immediately respond to major incidents, supervise field staff, conduct spot checks on staff and perform other duties throughout the rail network.
