Wilson Security commences Mint contract

Wilson Security commenced security services to the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra on 1 December 2009 after a successful six-week transition period.

The Mint has recently been refurbished to become a national tourist facility combined with a fully functioning coin factory, contemporary office accommodation and retail Coin Shop. The Mint is also a major Canberra tourist attraction with a public gallery and shop that have attracted an average of 150,000 visitors over the last three years.

Wilson Security is the first point of contact for VIPs, staff, visitors and the general public, providing reception services for the Mint. We also provide roving guarding, on site monitoring and mobile patrols and response services.

 “The key to our successful transition into this contract was consultation, collaboration and working in partnership with the client from the day we signed the contract to ensure we had a clear understanding of the Mint’s standards and expectations,” said Frank Smallwood, Regional Operations Manager.
